A Unified Brand for CDAC Network

GPS transformed a fragmented identity and an old and unnavigable website into a coherent brand and online presence for the CDAC Network. Competitor research, a brand guide, a new website and document library, practical templates, and a consistent cross-channel identity created a platform designed to evolve with the organization.

GPS Work: CDAC Network Burkina Faso

The Challenge

CDAC Network is a global alliance of UN agencies, Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations, NGOs, media, and communications organizations working to ensure that communities in crisis can access trustworthy information and participate meaningfully in decisions that affect them.

Its public identity did not reflect the importance or ambition of that mission. The brand had become stale, and the website was difficult to manage and lacked a clear user experience. Visitors had no intuitive route through the organization’s work, membership, and resources.

The problem extended beyond the website. Publications, presentations, social media graphics, and marketing materials followed slightly different interpretations of the brand. Without a shared system or practical guidance, the organization remained visually fragmented.

The Approach

GPS began with brand research, examining how CDAC Network understood itself, how it needed to communicate, and where the existing identity no longer supported its mission. This established the strategic foundation before any visual decisions were made.

We developed a refreshed visual identity that communicated authority without feeling institutional or remote. It could accommodate a diverse global network, complex technical material, major publications, and fast-moving digital content.

A coherent brand guide translated the identity into practical rules for typography, color, imagery, layout, logo use, and tone. It gave staff and partners a clear framework they could apply consistently without constant external oversight.

We then designed and launched a new website around user needs. Clearer information architecture made CDAC Network’s purpose, priorities, membership, and work easier to understand, while a dedicated document library gave its reports, guidance, tools, and resources a coherent home.

Finally, GPS developed document templates and extended the identity across social media and marketing platforms. Every touchpoint now belonged to the same flexible creative system.

What the Project Delivered

The CDAC Network rebrand included:

  • Brand research grounding the identity in CDAC Network’s mission, audiences, and future direction

  • A refreshed visual identity and brand guide that staff and partners can apply consistently

  • A redesigned website with a user-centered structure and clearer navigation

  • A dedicated document library bringing reports, guidance, and tools into one place

  • Templates and a consistent identity across publications, presentations, social media, and marketing

The Results

CDAC Network emerged with a clear and recognizable identity that matched the seriousness of its mission while remaining accessible. Its website, resources, publications, and digital communications now formed one visual and strategic whole.

The website provided a more intuitive public platform, while the document library made knowledge and resources easier to navigate. Templates and clear guidance also helped staff produce new materials without reinventing the brand for every project.

Most importantly, the work replaced individual design decisions with an organization-wide creative system, giving CDAC Network both a stronger public presence and the internal tools to maintain it.

The Insight

A successful rebrand is not simply a new logo or a more attractive website. It is a shared system connecting mission, message, user experience, and design. For a complex network, its value lies in supporting many contributors while remaining coherent wherever the organization appears.
